Every year, ACPM members help chart the direction of our College by electing the leaders who will govern it. That moment is here again. Voting for the 2027 Board of Regents election opened Monday, August 24, and closes on September 21.
This year’s ballot includes candidates for President-Elect and Regent-at-Large, the members who will help set ACPM’s priorities, oversee the organization, and represent the interests of our specialty at every level. It’s a strong group of candidates, and I’d encourage you to take a few minutes to read through each candidate’s background here and engage with the candidates through their Q&A threads on ACPM Pulse here before you cast your vote.
I’ve had the chance to serve ACPM in a few different capacities over the years, and one thing has stayed consistent: the strength of our governance depends on the people willing to step up and the members willing to weigh in. The Board of Regents sets the course for everything from our advocacy priorities to our education programs to how we support the next generation of preventive medicine physicians. Who sits on that board matters, and this election is your chance to have a say.
How to vote: Recent Graduates, Full Members, Fellows, and Emeritus Members will see an email arriving today with the subject line “Don’t Forget to Vote: 2027 ACPM Board of Regents Ballot”. That message will contain your secure voting link through SimplyVoting, our election partner. If you don’t see it in your inbox, check your spam or promotions folder first, and reach out to info@acpm.org if you still can’t find it. We’re happy to help.
Before you vote, remember to take a look at the full candidate bios here. Each nominee brings a different mix of experience, from clinical practice and public health leadership to federal service and academia, and it’s worth knowing where they’ve been and what they’d prioritize for the College.
Voting closes September 21, so there’s time to read up, but not unlimited time. If you’ve participated in past elections, thank you. If this is your first time voting as an ACPM member, welcome, and thank you for making your voice part of how we govern ourselves.
