Run for Office

Get involved in APMR leadership by serving on the Governing Council.  Feel free to contact our current officers for more information about their experience!

ELECTION OF OFFICERS:

A)      The officers shall be elected to a one-year term of service with the option of re-running in the same position if he/she chooses and is eligible.  If a current officer would like to serve in another position on the Governing Council, he/she may be re-run for another position as long as he/she remains eligible.

B)      The term will run June 1 to June 1.  Elections shall be conducted on an annual basis.  Vacant positions for the coming year will be announced at the ACPM Annual Meeting in February and candidates will be voted into office by April 1.

C)      The GC will solicit nominations from among all of the membership ("call for nominees"). Each nominee will submit his/her CV and a brief statement of interest to the GC for general distribution.  Additional supportive documents will be permitted but not required.

D)      If more than three nominations for an office are received, it will be the responsibility of the GC to select from among all nominees the three members who will be candidates for the office.

E)      All current members of the APMR as defined in Article III will be eligible to vote for officers.  The GC will present the statements of each candidate and a ballot which each member may use to vote for officers. A majority of the returned ballots will be necessary to elect each officer.

F)      Newly elected officers assume full office June 1.  From April 1 – June 1, they will serve as officer-elects, participate in GC monthly conference calls, and work with out-going officers to ensure a smooth transition.
