Lorraine F. Yeung, MD, MPH, is a medical epidemiologist at the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Her research focuses on birth defects epidemiology. Prior to that, Dr. Yeung was an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at NCBDDD from 2002 to 2004.  

Dr. Yeung received her BS with honors from Georgetown University and her MD from Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Yeung completed a combined internal medicine/pediatric residency at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and a preventive medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where she received her MPH and stayed on as chief resident. Dr. Yeung is board certified in Public Health and General Preventive Medicine. Since joining ACPM in 1999, Dr. Yeung has served the College in numerous capacities, including Association of Preventive Medicine Residents (APMR) President, Young Physician Section (YPS) Chair, Preventive Medicine 2006 Conference Chair, and most recently as Young Physician Regent on the ACPM Board of Regents. Dr. Yeung is also serving as a member of the CDC Graduate Medical Education Committee. Dr. Yeung was the recipient of the ACPM Resident Award in 2002.
