The American College of Preventive
Medicine (ACPM) was established in 1954
and is comprised of physicians specialized
in the field of preventive medicine. The
College is deeply committed to helping
medical students and residents as they
begin their careers. The Resident
Physician Section (RPS) is the name
provided to the College’s resident level
of membership. The RPS is the national
voice of preventive medicine residents on
issues effecting training, policy, and
education. The College provides RPS
members with educational resources and
puts them in touch with many of the best
clinicians and leaders in preventive
medicine and public health.
RPS members receive full ACPM member
benefits, including a subscription to the
American Journal of Preventive Medicine (AJPM).
RPS members also receive discounted rates
on annual meeting registration fees and
opportunities to participate in a wide
variety of practicum rotation experiences.
RPS membership can be the beginning of
many rewarding, professional experiences.
Preventive medicine is changing rapidly
and offers a wide array of opportunities
for growth and development. RPS encourages
its members to seize these opportunities
and help shape one’s future and the future
of the profession. Joining the ACPM
through membership in the RPS is an
excellent start in achieving this goal.
